There was quite a bit of excitement in Los Angeles yesterday as George Lucas announced that he has selected Los Angeles Exposition Park as home to his new museum, Lucas Museum Of Narrative Art. The excitement is over the addition of a new piece of architecture to the area, but also about the estimated 1,000 jobs that the construction will add.

Here are the numbers as released from the Lucas Museum Of Narrative Arts:

Site Exposition Park, Los Angeles (Currently Parking Lots 2 & 3).

Parking Underground parking to accommodate approximately 1800 vehicles.

Added green space* Approximately 6–7 acres.

Interior spaces* Approximately 265,000–275,000 Net SF.

Galleries* Approximately 90,000–100,000 SF.
