Dreamy Weenies is just on the edge of the French Quarter across from Louis Armstrong park on Rampart Street in a pretty nondescript building, but look for the colorful sign – it is easy to spot.

This is an excellent place for anyone wanting a super delicious hotdog, particularly if you are a wholesome Whole Foods (vegan) eater but still occasionally want to enjoy a hotdog. They offer an excellent selection of vegan sausages which is a more accurate word for what they serve – no skinny dogs here! Try the Andouille sausage with Sauerkraut, Onions, Relish, Mustard and Ketchup with an order of waffle fries super tasty, just as you would expect in New Orleans…

They have many different spiced hotdogs, regular as well as vegan – go here for the menu!

Green Goddess in New Orleans French Quarter is located in a small alley off Conti Street, 307 Exchange Place, New Orleans, LA 70130 – Phone: 504-301-3347 Open Wednesday – Sunday 11:00AM – 9:00PM. First come first served basis – no reservations.

It is a very innovative cuisine that Chef Paul cooks up and the influences come from around the world. Excellent spicing and one of the few places in the world, actually we venture to say that it is the best vegan/vegetarian fine dining in the world! However, the cuisine is not limited in this aspect either – it is truly some unlimited and uninhibited cooking at its best going on in this little gem of a restaurant! They also have an excellent assortment of spirits and wines from around  the world, Beers, Red – Rosé – White and – Sparkling wines, Sherry, Port, Grappa and of course Cognacs and Armagnacs as well as various other spirits – the list goes on and the selections are all very thoughtfully made and are a good representation of this restaurant and the thought that goes into every detail.

One of our favorites is the Rolled Uttapam, a South Indian inspired dish that is truly awesome with flavorful bursts of different spices that come together to create a great symphony in your mouth – highly recommended!

Red Eye Grits and Greens hold the eggs style

The Red Eye grits with Greens and eggs is another dish that in this case was ‘tweaked’ a bit to make it a bit closer to vegan so without the eggs but still not truly vegan because of some cream used in the biscuit, a very well flavored dish and oh those greens and the spices… wow!

Chocolate Dutch French Toast for dessert
Chocolate Dutch French Toast for dessert

Don’t forget dessert – the Chocolate Dutch French Toast is just truly awesome – you need to give up being vegan for for a minute, but this one dessert is truly worth that! A French toast filled with aged Dutch Gouda cheese and chocolate with Steen’s cane syrup and salted caramel it’s like heaven…
