New Orleans Film Festival

The New Orleans Film Festival just concluded – October 14 – 22 2015

We went to see a few really good short films produced mostly by young filmmakers with a big vision and great talent. The short category, I think is an under-appreciated form of film. The quality of the films and the excellent storytelling is really entertaining but sometimes also give reason for pause and reflection.

The Lot was one of the most enjoyable short films that we watched this evening, but all the shorts had something that made them very interesting and fun to watch. The Lot is about a café owner that makes friends with a local kid and then tries to do good by helping him turn the empty lot next to the café into a place where the kid and his friends can meet and play – only to see the effort being thwarted by city bureaucrats.
